6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (10 April - Results & Review)
2. Pat McAfee Tells You Not To Watch ‘Mania
Or part of it, at least.
On SmackDown, Pat McAfee chirpily announced a 25% decrease on WrestleMania Saturday tickets, then said it didn’t go for the Sunday too because nobody wants to watch a “bag of bones” like CM Punk anyway. So, we’re out here on WWE TV shows telling fans not to watch WWE PLEs, then using airtime to shill discounted ‘Mania tickets because the prices are astronomical? This is like a corporate parody of wrestling, man.
Sorry, but the only thing “ass” around here is this storyline and the way WWE is going about it. It's so backwards, self-loathing and counterproductive. They just had an announcer, who returned in an unwanted power position shortly before one of the most important WWE Title matches of 2026, tell the world that the top champ over on Mondays is a waste of time, energy and money. Gee, that'll put some butts in seats.
Aren't you excited to snap up tickets for WrestleMania 42 now?! You heard Pat: RAM trucks will pay a quarter of your asking price to go see Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton, but you're in trouble if you also want to stick around in Las Vegas for the second night and Punk vs. Roman Reigns - WWE just told you that doesn't deserve the platform.
Personally, this guy cannot believe this is what we're doing in such close proximity to the actual show itself. Yes, McAfee is going for a 'too cool for school' saviour of the business who tells it like it is deal, but it's falling short. Way short.
