6 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dynamite (23 Oct)
2. Wardlow Pushes Back
They remembered!
This is another thing that AEW does so well. They rarely let even the smallest of story threads fizzle out and become meaningless. Here, big Wardlow interrupted MJF's bragging about kicking Sting's ass to ask why his so-called buddy pushed him in front of the icon last week.
Friedman refused to answer and said he'd start relying more on Shawn Spears than Wardlow in the future. Boom. In one fell swoop, these guys presented Wardlow as somebody with slow-burn babyface potential, Spears as a violent psychopath and MJF as a mouthy leader who doesn't like tough questions.
Watch this space over the next few months. AEW could perhaps ride this all the way to next year's Double Or Nothing and have The Pinnacle implode. MJF vs. Wardlow in some sort of 'No DQ' or steel cage showdown would be bags of fun.
