6 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Dec 16)

3. Eddie Kingston Tries To Fight God

Lance Archer Eddie Kingston
AEW

"Eddie Kingston addresses his enemies" was the advertised segment, and address them he did, as the best wrestling talker of 2020 threw barbs at PAC, Lance Archer, and, uh, God. Outstanding stuff.

'The Mad King' cut a textbook rugged, believable promo on his foes before 'Everybody Dies' hit and Lance Archer burst into the ring. Outnumbered when The Butcher and The Blade came to Eddie's aid, relief came in the form of the Lucha Brothers, then PAC, whom Eddie claimed "wasn't coming back" after neck injuries suffered a few weeks ago.

Tension was sown between PAC and Archer as 'The Bastard' booted Kingston in the face while Lance had him trapped in a goozle, adding another dynamic to this four-on-three rivalry. AEW still has the obvious trios match, Lance vs. Eddie, PAC vs, Eddie, and a bunch of other singles opportunities to explore here, with The Butcher vs. 'The Bastard' going down next week. This is a layered, multi-faceted rivalry typical of the promotion's booking approach, and all of this was on full display here.
