6 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Jul 29)

Ups...

6. FTR Do The Deal

FTR contract signing
AEW

FTR's official AEW contract signing was an average segment, though one that had too much effectively subtle story stuff to consider anything but an Up.

This was FTR kayfabe inking their deals after previous claiming that they were working on a handshake agreement with Tony Khan. They had a couple of legal representatives with them and brought Arn Anderson in, because who knows more about tag team wrestling than 'The Enforcer'? Their clauses and conditions included a 10-second rule on double-team, use of a tag rope, and a guaranteed Tag Team Appreciation Night hosted by them on 12 August, which Anderson clarified was legal.

Hangman Page walked in with a bottle of whiskey and doled it out as the ink was drying. Arn pouring his measure into Cash Wheeler's glass was a nice touch, as was Page giving himself a full glass while FTR only got a finger or two.

In successfully building the established FTR/Page dynamic and hinting towards the Four Horsemen revival with Arn's presence, this worked.
