2. Lita, Snitsky, And The Baby

Even the biggest critics of WWE's PG rating should be thankful that the company's shift to a more family-friendly style in 2008 prevented unmitigated trash like this from ever happening again.

Kane's "courtship" of Lita was cringe-worthy at best, and straight up uncomfortable at worst. It started with the former Isaac Yankem falling for her after WrestleMania XX. He was turned down, but kidnapped Lita, harassing and coercing her into something she didn't really want, with several segments portraying her as a terrified victim while the brute towered over her. It was awful, and got even worse as it progressed.

Lita became pregnant, with Matt Hardy and Kane both claiming fatherhood. This led to a SummerSlam bout stipulating that Lita would be forced to marry the victor. Thus, her and Kane were wed, before a debuting Gene Snitsky struck the big man with a chair a few weeks later, causing him to fall on his bride. Lita miscarried, Snitsky punted a doll into the crowd, and we changed the channel.

The worst part is that Kane and Lita's back and forth went on for over a year, and was only truly abandoned when the Edge/Matt Hardy scandal emerged. An overdue blessing, because nothing about the previous storyline hit the mark.
