6 Ups & 6 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (May 10)

1. Cage's Update

Brian Cage
Impact Wrestling

Immediately following his victory at Rebellion, Brian Cage had to be taken to a medical facility. We received an update regarding The Machine this week, with the champ saying that it was bittersweet when he won the title as he's now had to be examined for potential injuries. He's focusing on rehab for the moment, and that's all he really said

No plans for when the rehab is complete, no plans for if he has to vacate the championship at any stage, nothing. All we really know is that Michael Elgin will be waiting for him when he does make a return to competition. The reasoning behind Cage not saying too much is likely down to doctors not knowing exactly what the injury is, but there should at least be a time period with regards to when the title will be vacated.

As big as Cage's championship victory was, his health does obviously come first. If he needs time to recover, then he needs that time. It's just a shame that the World Championship scene has to be held back as a result of it. There's plenty of names who could hold the fort down until he returns, but they've got nothing to fight over in the meantime.
