WWE Raw Sheamus Tozawa Natalya Maxxine Dupri Alpha Academy

For a time, WWE’s backstage segments were some of the best stuff on television, with thoughtful encounters between wrestlers that showed the depth of their characters.

Monday, we got the anti-Super Friends, with Alpha Academy and Natalya once again hanging out with Sheamus as the Celtic Warrior talked up Nattie and Maxxine Dupri as women’s tag title contenders… despite the duo not having wrestled together as a tag team since before WrestleMania 41.

Alpha Academy and Nattie have become part of the furniture backstage. They might as well be handed headsets and act like production assistants instead of wrestlers. There’s no value added, and those who end up in segments with them are no better off. Sheamus wasn’t elevated by giving them a pep talk.

Either disband the group and find something new for them to do, or give them some actual substance. Random, throwaway 60-second segments aren’t exactly keeping them top-of-mind to fans.
