6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (26 June - Review)

2. Strong Sell… Via Cat In The Hat

If you heard that a WWE superstar used the Cat in the Hat in their promo, you would swear Vince McMahon wrote it and it was childish and groan-worthy.

Now, Vince might have pushed for the line in Cody Rhodes’ promo Monday night, but it was highly effective and a perfect jab at Dominik Mysterio. Rhea Ripley and Dom-Dom were trying to welcome everyone to Raw but were drowned out by boos, prompting Cody to come out and drop the, “those who matter don’t mind, and those who do mind don’t matter” line.

That seemed odd enough, but as he has done throughout this entire WWE run, Rhodes brought everything to bear seconds later, saying he was quoting a children’s book because he was speaking to “a scared little boy.” This set Mysterio off, but he ultimately slunk away with Mami.

Fans already have bought into this match, but this just solidified that this one is going to be white hot, even if they do next to nothing in the ring on Saturday.

Moral of the story: Cat in the Hat is still cool – even in wrestling – when left in the right hands.
