6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (26 June - Review)

3. Priest Felled By Dom’s Incompetence

Damian Priest has been on a role for a while now, but you couldn’t envision him defeating Cody Rhodes Monday night, just days before he faces fellow Judgment Day cohort Dominik Mysterio.

But how do you protect Priest ahead of his appearance in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, and potentially advance his own independence angle?

WWE managed to thread the needle nicely in the main event, with Priest and Rhodes being largely evenly matched, until Dominik got involved. Mysterio, who as we all know is out of his depth (in kayfabe and reality), got on the apron after interfering once before, and immediately Cody shoved Damian into Dom, allowing the American Nightmare to hit Cross-Rhodes for the win.

Cody got the win, Dom got to look like a boob, and Priest had to walk to the back wondering if the Judgment Day is holding him back and/or clashing too much with his efforts. It was a nice bit of business all-around, capped off with Dominik getting a cheapshot on Rhodes to close the show Nicely done.
