6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (26 June - Review)

5. Remember When This Was A Big Deal?

It wasn’t all that long ago when then-SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey facing up-and-coming Raquel Rodriguez was a spotlight match for the blue brand.

But on Raw Monday night, it was time-filler, a match for the sake of having a match between halves of two tag teams facing off at Money in the Bank. The match itself was OK, but it never really had time to get going. Rousey tried to work her submission game, but Rodriguez was too powerful.

Some outside shenanigans gave way to Ronda quickly rolling up Raquel for the win, but it was ultimately meaningless. And that really is the problem here: What was seen as a marquee matchup less than a year ago is just filler, fluff, something to supposedly whet your appetite for a tag match.

If that was what you were going for, any other pairing of the four women would have worked fine. This? This will be forgotten as a match and never referenced again, even if they’re fighting for a singles title down the line.
