2. Geekifying Joe Hendry

Welp, it was a run for Joe Hendry.

You don’t want to start writing the epitaph for a wrestler after one squash, but this has been a dismal run for Hendry in recent weeks.

After being a third wheel with the Street Profits for a while, Hendry paired up with Danhausen last week to put on possibly the worst segment of the year on Raw, where he got laid out like a geek via a guitar shot from boxer Ryan Garcia.

Then came Raw Monday night.

Hendry squared off against an irate Bron Breakker, who just stared at the entrance ramp where Oba Femi had been. Rather than attack his oblivious opponent after the bell rang or just step back, Hendry stood there and yelled to get his attention, only for Bron to turn around and level him with a clothesline.

Outside, Joe took out Austin Theory and leapfrogged a charging Breakker, but he engaged with Theory again, only to roll back into the ring and into a spear for the loss. Worse, he then got jumped by Theory, needing to be saved by Akira Tozawa.

This guy held the NXT Championship as recently as four months ago, and now he’s a bad comedy act getting squashed like a bug and playing damsel in distress for Tozawa to make the save.

WOOF.
