6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (30 Jan - Review)

5. Asuka Creeps Everyone Out

Those of us who never saw Asuka wrestle as her “Murder Clown” persona could be in for a treat to see the Empress embracing a different character for the first time in WWE.

Asuka returned at the Royal Rumble in new gear with new makeup and a new persona reaching back to her pre-WWE days for a darker version of herself. While we didn’t get a huge focus on her during the Rumble match, it was clear that this is not the fun-loving, goofy Asuka any longer.

Monday, Asuka walked up to Carmella and stared her down before letting the mist she was holding in her mouth dribbled out and down her face, forcing the Princess of Staten Island to back away calling her “creepy.”

If we keep getting little bits like this, showing that Asuka is just deranged and dangerous, that could work better than any verbose promo. If anyone else, it’s just something different and lets Asuka define the new character through actions, not words.
