6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (June 21)

6. More UK History From McIntyre

Drew McIntyre Riddle
WWE.com

We’ve reached the point in Drew McIntyre’s character where every week, we’re “treated” to some new history lesson or story from the United Kingdom, a trait that sprung up suddenly as the former champ became more and more introspective.

It’s really kind of jarring, and it’s really not clicking.

Previously, McIntyre talked about Scottish folklore with Robert the Bruce and William Wallace. On Monday night, Drew quoted Winston Churchill when talking about competing in the Money in the Bank qualifying match after battling in Hell in a Cell.

The commentary came across as lame, forced and counter to the persona we’ve grown to know during the past year-plus. Whoever thought this was a cool new direction for McIntyre, please scrap it.
