On paper, Seth Rollins versus Shinsuke Nakamura could and should be a show-stealing match. But in today’s WWE, it would probably typically go 7 minutes before a fluke rollup due to a distraction ended a pedestrian bout.

That’s why it was such a pleasant surprise to see both men fire on most cylinders on Sunday night, with Shinsuke showing some fire and Rollins rolling with all of it and hitting all of his signature spots. Nak even pulled out Landslide to counter a Stomp attempt at one point as they continued to attack and counter-attack each other.

Rollins, on a collision course with Cesaro, picked up the win with a Stomp after a pretty sweet rebound kick. This wasn’t some five-star classic, but it certainly was a good, entertaining bout worth checking out. And sometimes, that’s what you want and need on a show like this.
