6. So Edge Is A Heel?

Anytime there’s an outside enforcer in a match, it’s a safe bet that s/he will become physically involved in the bout somehow. When that enforcer is facing the winner of the match later, then it’s a guarantee it’s going to be an acrimonious situation.

Still, the moment Daniel Bryan inadvertently waffled Edge with a steel chair, you got this uneasy feeling in your stomach, and then moments later, the Rated-R Superstar followed through, bashing Bryan, then Roman Reigns, then Bryan again with the chair. Instead of being a enforcer, he battered both combatants and left the match.

Had there been a live crowd, this would have been a heel turn for Edge by virtue of attacking Daniel. But without an audience, is WWE hoping that all will be forgiven in three weeks when there are thousands of fans at WrestleMania?

One scenario that opens things up a bit is if WWE is thinking about turning this into a triple threat, ala WrestleMania 20, with Bryan being added after actually getting Reigns to tap out. This would open the door to Edge winning the title without pinning the champ Reigns (ala Mania 31). So we’ll call this a mild “down” here, but color us curious.
