6 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (April 24 - Review)
4. A Logical Offer
No one in their right mind expected Cody Rhodes to seriously contemplate Finn Balor’s offer to join the Judgment Day, but that doesn’t mean that the offer itself wasn’t rooted in reality.
Balor started out his sales pitch Monday night by noting that both men have been screwed over by Roman Reigns and the Bloodline, because neither man had backup of their own. Finn then made the connection that this drove Cody to trust Brock Lesnar, who immediately turned on him. All of this was to say that Rhodes needed some people in his corner who would have his back, like the Judgment Day.
Cody very quickly shot that offer down, but Balor continued his pitch by pointing out the group’s success, but Rhodes still wasn’t biting, which set up the impromptu main event. We’ve already criticized that very WWE part of the promo, but kudos to Finn for making a pretty good and grounded case for why the American Nightmare should join the group.
