6 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (April 24 - Review)
6. This Better Be Leading Somewhere
The Raw Women’s Champion should not be running around grabbing two random partners to fill out her side of an impromptu six-woman tag match, but here we are, with Bianca Belair thrown into the role of matchmaker and recruiter.
The six-woman tag pitting Damage CTRL against Belair and Raquel Rodriguez & Liv Morgan was fine for what it was, which was yet another loss for the heel stable, as Bayley ate yet another defeat. Bianca also once again was thrust into a supporting role in her own feud, as a lot of the mid-match shine went to the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions (understandably).
But once again, Damage CTRL was on the losing end of things, which left Iyo Sky pissed, as she now heads into her title match against Belair without any wind in her sails.
Now, there is some saving grace here, if WWE is smart enough to follow through on Iyo’s frustrations with Bayley interjecting herself into things and making the feud about the whole group instead of just Sky. It also doesn’t help that Bayley once again lost a match for the group.
If there’s follow-through there, then this is moot. But we’ve seen this story drag on before, so it’s a negative until WWE proves it can advance the angle and make it work.
