6 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (May 9)

2. Burning A First Time Ever Match

What an absolute waste.

WWE just burned a first time ever match that could have been truly special. Worse, they used it for angle advancement when everyone could see it coming a mile away.

Asuka challenged Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair in a championship contender’s match that was their first one-on-one meeting Monday night. The match was slated for the main event, but after introductions, there was only about five minutes left, and Becky Lynch was sitting ringside.

That pretty much gave away what was coming, and sure enough, Becky interfered to cause a DQ, dispatching with both women to close out the show.

Just like that WWE took what could have been a special encounter and turned it into a joke. They’ll never get to have a first matchup between these two stellar women superstars again, and the first was completely forgettable.
