6 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE WrestleMania 37 - Night 2

5. Cole’s Verbal Flaws Continue

Saturday night’s SmackDown Women’s Championship match went off without a hitch, save for “the Voice of WWE” Michael Cole horribly flubbing the finish, calling that Sasha Banks had kicked out of Bianca Belair’s KOD, when she in fact stayed down for the 3 count. Cole was rightly raked over the, *ahem* coals on the internet for it.

On Sunday, however, Cole continued to dazzle us with his verbal miscues. During the opening match, Randy Orton threw the Fiend into the giant Jack in the box at ringside, which Cole called a “box-like structure.” He later called Sami Zayn’s Michinoku Driver a “Blue Thunder Bomb,” which looks very different. (Corey Graves corrected him to “save” him from internet embarrassment.)

You’d think after 20-plus years, they would have found someone else who can call matches and get storylines across without flubs like these, but we get what we deserve, apparently.
