6 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE's Road To WrestleMania 36

3. Pay-Per-View Confusion

There were a lot of confused faces amongst the wrestling community, both fans and critics alike, when news broke that WWE were trying to offload pay-per-views to EPSN. This, at first, seemed to bring the curtain down on the Network gravy train and suggested that anyone interested in the promotion's biggest events would have to stump up mega-cash.

Like the bad old days.

That isn't the case, at least not in the short term - who knows what the future holds, but WrestleMania 36 will be available via the Network. That's besides the point here. The truth is that any kind of confusion was never going to be good for WWE or their customer base at this time of the year.

Fans didn't want to worry about potentially paying old-school prices for 'Mania instead of borrowing a pal's email address so they could sign up for a trial and watch it for free. They wanted to be swept up in the hysteria of hype, not fret that the unbelievable value WWE's in-house Network provides might suddenly vanish.
