6 Ups & 8 Downs From AEW Dark (Oct 13)

Ups...

6. Lucha Brothers vs. Cezar Bononi & Lee Johnson

Pentagon Lee Johnson
AEW

This was worth watching primarily for the performance of Cezar Bononi, who finally showed glimpses of what he might be capable of doing in this, his third AEW outing.

Bononi looked decent against the Lucha Brothers, hossing both around with his significant size and strength advantage. We saw only a few dashes of this, admittedly, but that's more than we've had in past outings and he didn't put a foot wrong, with elite Dark enhancement talent Lee Johnson putting a good shift in as well.

A nasty-looking Bononi Powerslam into the corner was the highlight, though it was Johnson who took the pinfall. From here, it'd be cool to see what Cezar can do in a singles bout.
