6 Ups & 8 Downs From AEW Dark (Oct 13)

2. Red Velvet vs. Elayna Black

Red Velvet
AEW

This was Red Velvet's first AEW win, and it appears that the (former?) enhancement talent is growing into a bigger role in Jacksonville. Currently embroiled in a storyline pitting her and Brandi Rhodes against Anna Jay and Tay Conti, there are signs that the promotion plans on doing something with her, and it wouldn't be a huge surprise to see a "Red Velvet is All Elite' banner appear on Twitter before long.

Nonetheless, this was another basic Dark match. Black looks a solid wrestler and is likely worth another shot, though the basic, repetitive layout renders this a pass, particularly as the only storyline development came from Rhodes in the announce booth. There was no sign of Tay or Conti.
