6. Byron The Man-Child

It’s pretty well established that this column is no fan of Byron Saxton and his (lack of) contribution to the commentary team. But we try not to criticize the man every week since he’s only saying what he’s told to say, and it wouldn’t be fair to bash him repeatedly.

At the same time, there are occasions where criticism is warranted, and Saxton earned it Monday night just before the mixed six-person tag match took place. Charlotte was sitting in on commentary when New Day’s music started up, and Saxton launched into an excitement that could best be described as an over-caffeinated 4-year-old going to Disney World, multiplied by 50:

Saxton: “The mood just got better!” Michael Cole: “Why? The mood isn’t good because Charlotte is here?” Saxton: “Well, yeah, but… Hey! Booty-O time!”

The only way this could be worse is if he was paired with Mike Adamle.
