If this only happened once, then it would have been forgiven and never mentioned, but twice? And by the boss?

While talking about the importance of the upcoming main event, Stephanie McMahon stressed the significance by noting that the winner would become the first Universal Champion. Ummm, what? Then backstage with Seth Rollins, she did it again, talking about becoming the first Universal Champion.

Did she forget being ringside when Finn Balor defeated Seth Rollins at SummerSlam to win the inaugural title match? Or that she was in the ring when Balor relinquished the title the next night on Raw? Or was Stephanie trying to whitewash Balor out of the history books and start over with the new champ?

More likely, it was a flub as she was trying to make the title match seem more historic. But still, it was a noticeable slip that she made twice.
