6 Ups And 1 Downs From WWE NXT (Dec 16)

1. Rhea Ripley Gets Caught In A Storm

Another blockbuster encounter was announced for this week's NXT earlier in the week - Toni Strom Vs Rhea Ripley. The pair obviously know each other very well as they went to war as recently as World Collides (which was somehow in 2020?!). So, we knew we were in for an exciting and instantly personal affair here.

However, both women now find themselves in very different positions 12 months on from their last meeting. Ripley is NXT Women's Championship-less and Storm has found a new edge as a single-minded heel.

Moving at a frightening pace from the off, both stars showcased their impressive knowledge of each other's styles and move-sets, wriggling out of dangerous positions and smoothly countering their sworn enemy's best shots.

As the match wore on, the animosity between the two only grew, both stars upping the physicality and adding a bit of extra spice into every dropkick, suplex and headbutt. Yet, there could be only one, and, after Raquel Gonzalez suddenly arrived and lawn-darted Ripley into the steel ringpost, Storm was able to pick up her biggest win since returning to WWE TV with a Storm Zero.

All signs now seem to point to Gonzalez Vs RIpley II. Sounds like Christmas may be about to come early, if you ask me....
