6 Ups And 10 Downs From WWE Fastlane 2016

1. No Style Clash

The minute it was announced, fans knew that AJ Styles versus Chris Jericho had the potential to be a show-stealing classic. And they were not disappointed.

Styles and Jericho tore down the house in a barnburner of a match that pitted two fan-favorites against each other in the rubber match between them (btw, not all rubber matches are bad). Fans responded with dueling chants for both wrestlers as they traded rollups, countered springboards with other springboards and combated finishing moves with other finishing moves. Jericho spent much of the match slapping Styles around and trash-talking, but AJ let his fists and feet do his talking.

In the end, Jericho kicked out of a Styles Clash (the only real blemish to the match €“ having Styles finisher being diminished this early in his WWE run), but AJ quickly transitioned to the Calf Crusher for the submission victory. This match alone was worth the $9.99 for the PPV.
