6 Ups And 2 Downs For WWE NXT (Jan 13)

4. Thatcher And Ciampa Set The Stage For Fight Pit II

With the pair's originally scheduled New Year's Evil Fight Pit match scrapped due to an injury Timothy Thatcher sustained in training, this week saw Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa thrown into a sit-down interview hosted by Wade Barrett.

Throughout this intense conversation, we learnt that Thatcher wasn't in the mood to disclose the nature of his injury coming into next week's Fight Pit II, but more importantly, we became aware of exactly why these two men became such bitter enemies in the first place. Seriously, this was the first time we were given any concrete reason as to why this whole thing started!

According to Thatcher, he had no problem with Ciampa, and it was the former NXT Champion who started off this whole drama whilst he was trying to educate the next generation. Ciampa saw things differently, however, claiming that Thatcher was taking liberties as a coach, so he would take similar liberties during their upcoming war.

Just like that, fans were given a reason to give a sh*t about a contest which is sure to deliver in terms of grit and sheer violence. Now sit back and enjoy the cage fighting chaos set to take centre stage in seven days time.
