6 Ups And 2 Downs From WWE NXT (Nov 18)
3. Timm's Fairytale
Nobody to blame but myself here. I kept saying that the Timothy Thatcher beating up his student segments were only worthwhile if they ended up in a substantial-feeling feud and some actual pro-wrestling matches to develop it in. Well, here we are, a substantial-feeling feud and some actual pro-wrestling matches to develop it in. Only it's... still... with... his... students. Be careful what you wish for kids.
It was fine (if underwhelming), a showcase (for things we've already seen), and a platform for August Grey (that didn't really let him shine). Under normal circumstances, I'd probably just throw this a modest down and move on with my life but I've literally made this bed so I'm going to have to lie in it. Thanks for giving me what I asked for NXT, I hate it.
Not sure who that was coming out at the end to confront Thatcher, but he cut one a promo that was powerfully reminiscent of the text-only generic backstage interviews on SmackDown: Just Bring It for the PS2 so I'm going to award him points for nostalgia.
