6 Ups And 2 Downs From WWE NXT (Nov 18)

4. (If You Believe) They Put A Plan On The Moon

Ember Moon's not quite been at her best since returning. Toni Storm's been, frankly, woeful in parts but slowly improved. Raquel González is pretty two dimensional in her This-Woman-Bigger-Than-Other-Woman role. Dakota Kai is amazing, but doesn't tend to carry people too well. Thus, on the face of it, you'd have been forgiven for expecting nothing more than some entertaining-if-sloppy fun here, but my god what a match.

Before we even get into the fact that the first 3 women mentioned above probably had their best NXT matches (or this particular run, anyway), the story woven into this was brilliant. Moon and Storm are excellent, and when they got going they had too much for Kai and González, but the heels were here to win a tag-team match. The faces weren't.

Storm was there to make herself look like the natural number 1 contender, repeatedly going into business for herself as the match wore on. In the end, the fact that Kai and González were on the same page got them the win. Whatever the exact combinations for the women's WarGames match, the individual performances here (Moon and González especially) give you hope that it could be an all-timer. I'd personally dig out Rusev's old tank and give it Shotzi but that's just me.
