6 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Mar 16th)
2. Regal Ex Machina
William Regal wasn't done after booking the Nakamura-Zayn match for TakeOver: Dallas. Later in the show, Eva Marie and Nia Jax took on Bayley and Asuka in tag team action, and while the bout was well-worked, it was structured oddly. Bayley took the heat and tried to get to Asuka for the hot tag, but in the end, she capitalized off a bit of interference from "The Empress of Tomorrow" to make her own comeback and pin Eva Marie. After the bout, Regal came out once again and announced that Bayley would defend the Women's Championship against Asuka in Dallas. While there's no denying that Asuka has done enough to earn the shot, it was odd timing, given that Bayley did the bulk of the work in the previous match and scored the win for her team. Even stanger was that right after, a video played hyping an Asuka-Emma match for next week. Couldn't that have been made a number one contendership bout, with Asuka getting the win? That way, the booking of the match would have seemed a lot less heavy handed.
