5. Stardust And The Ascension Form The Cosmic Wasteland

Stardust was all set for a match against Neville when The Ascension showed up out of nowhere to attack Neville while "The Man That Gravity Forgot" was on the entrance ramp getting set for the match. This was well done and totally unexpected from a storyline perspective because Stardust hasn't really had any association with The Ascension before this. He introduced them as his "conniving cohorts" and then The Ascension nailed the Fall of Man. Stardust ended it saying: "Welcome to the Cosmic Wasteland." The reason I liked it is because I had doubts about what Stardust was going to do in the months ahead. The Ascension have also done nothing interesting on the main roster, so this gives them something to do as Stardust's backup. Will Stardust get enough momentum to be the WWE Champion with this new group? Probably not. However, it's good for all three guys to be together at this point.
