From the same match, there was another interesting little reference to WCW’s past…

In this case, Michael Cole dug into WCW’s history as the announcers discussed the unique “guitar on a pole” match between Elias and Jason Jordan. Cole mentioned that Booker T had participated in something called a (San Francisco) 49er on a pole match, which was one of the failing company’s lesser moments.

Essentially, you had four boxes suspended from poles at each corner. Three boxes contained dud items, while the fourth held the WCW Championship. Booker T would go on to win the title in that match, a bout he told Cole on Monday that he hated.

Between that and Cole asking if Booker had ever been hit by a guitar (when the five-time WCW champion had feuded with Jeff Jarrett for a good while), you get the feeling someone was trolling a bit.
