6 Ups And 4 Downs From WWE NXT 2.0 (Jan 11)
3. Mandy Rose Shoots After Big Win
...well, sort of.
After a wholly disappointing showcase of NXT's once mouth-watering Women's division at last week's New Year's Evil, the current reigning champ, Mandy Rose, took to the poolside to pose with her strap in an unashamed attempt to make that 18-49 demographic that most definitely are watch (right!?) dribble onto their TV remotes. Not to be left out, the rest of Toxic Attraction joined in on the fun later in the night too.
This felt like the most blatant and oddly damning confirmation of exactly what direction WWE want to take the talented women of NXT in the near future, with sex appeal and making the division/title "hot" seemingly being the buzz words that Vinnie Mac and his cronies think will bring all the adolescents to the multi-coloured yard.
It's insane to think that just 12-months ago, we were being treated to a Genius of the Sky putting on frequent bangers. But who needs high quality matches when you can be posing in a bikini instead, right? Kay Lee Ray smashing up said photoshoot set at least acted as some sort of therapy for those longing for the good ol' days.
