6 Ups And 4 Downs From WWE NXT 2.0 (Nov 16)

1. Gonzalez And Kai's Turnbuckle Turmoil Ends In WarGames

First and foremost, giving away the Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez grudge match on free TV had Twitter's red flags all over it. And though the match itself was a thoroughly enjoyable tale of a p*ssed off former champion wanting to get one over on the former friend who wronged her, everyone knew shenanigans were incoming.

But before we get there, a moment to admire the aforementioned drama that unfolded over the course of this 15-minutes of great work. Planting the seed of a vital game-changer later in the match seemingly from the very first move, The Captain of Team Kick was smashed awkwardly into the bottom turnbuckle. Said turnbuckle soon came into play, as did the rest of them over the course of a thudding contest, as Kai snatched the loose cover away and eventually nailed her old mate with the exposed steel in the closing stages.

Things admittedly veered on the side of dumb when Kai decided to introduce her new trusty shovel soon after, but I guess her newly altered gimmick finds herself in that typical WWE "twisted" zone currently so it is what it is. In the end, as Gonzalez threatened to bury Kai with her own tool, Toxic Attraction emphatically ruined the party and an all-out brawl ensued.

But rather than eliciting a sea of consistent groans from the crowd, the arrival of Cora Jade and Io Shirai to even the odds felt like a logical step. Jade and Shirai have had their recent issues with Kai and Mandy Rose's gang, respectively, so why wouldn't they jump at the chance to get a piece?

A Regal-less WarGames suggestion may not have given the moment the sort of fanfare it deserves, but seeing some fresh faces get locked inside the iconic structure is a-okay in this writer's opinion. And bring on more Shirai in a bin for the win!
