With WarGames now only a matter of weeks away, questions surrounding who exactly NXT 2.0 would sentence to some extended steel time had been doing the rounds for the better part of a week. Well, we got at least part of the answer to one of those matches this week, assuming that there will be both a men and women's iteration of the frequently enthralling slice of carnage.

Away from that colossal stipulation contest, though, a wise guy passed his latest test with flying colours... and no bribe necessary... probably. A Bruiserweight and a dude who made Wrestling his moniker set their sights on the "A" title. And some Grizzled Young scamps posed as the current NXT Women's Tag Team Champions for their granny. It was a weird week, OK? Or just another typical episode of the multi-coloured monstrosity, depending on where you stand on the revamp.

And for all that most definitely did not click on the latest chunk of developmental TV, looking at you Adam Pearce's bodyguard, you do have to admire the attempts to bring something new to the table on NXT 2.0. Quite literally in the case of two lads taking their rivalry up a notch over a game of Texas Holdem.

But a week of glorious one-liners did at times feel like filler as we are still a few shows away from NXT's last hurrah of 2021. But there's at least less than a 33 and a 1/3% chance it'll be this lopsided next week, right?
