2. Keeping It Classy In Regards To AJ Lee
Prior to this show, the smart money was on WWE either throwing petty jabs at newly retired diva AJ Lee or ignoring her decision entirely. In fact, I think most fans probably expected some form of disrespect or throwing shade, especially considering the contentious relationship between her husband and the WWE. So the fact that the commentators chose to speak so highly and respectful of her at various points throughout the night early in the show and during the Divas tag match was a nice surprise. They lauded her for her multiple accomplishments while with the company, highlighting her record breaking title reign and JBL even said Thank you, AJ - the Twitter hashtag that made the rounds once the news broke. For a company infamous for burying former employees in childish ways, it was nice to see them take the high road in regards to the most popular female performer since the heydays of Trish Stratus and Lita.
