6 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night’s WWE Raw (April 6th)

1. The Right Guy Won The Main Event...And Quickly

There wasn't any surprise regarding who was going to pull out the win in the main event triple threat match to determine the #1 contender for Extreme Rules, and there shouldn't have been. Randy Orton and Seth Rollins had a great match on the undercard at WrestleMania 31 and it's going to be exciting seeing what they're capable of when tasked with facing off in the main event. For a company who is allegedly so intent on getting Roman Reigns over, they continue to book him in situations where he comes out on the losing end, ostensibly in an attempt to earn the fans' respect by having him pay his dues? At least he wasn't the one to eat the pin here in this main event - Ryback was, and he's someone who they are (and should be) less-invested in. The match was quick and to the point and included the requisite Authority stooge interference, and despite a dead crowd the victory-claiming RKO drew a nice pop from the crowd. Seeing as Orton's last run as champion drew particularly disappointing numbers it will be interesting to see how well the matches do with his as challenger. Hopefully much better, as a long Seth Rollins reign would be great for the company.
