6. Hometown Hero Comes Through

Boston is known to longtime baseball fans as a cursed town. After all, the Red Sox went nearly 90 years between world championships despite numerous shots.

Similarly, WWE has a pseudo-curse of its own: the hometown hero curse, which states that if you are wrestling in your hometown, you most likely will lose your match. Monday, however, Sasha Banks – who once lost her Raw Women’s Championship in Beantown, defeated Nia Jax to earn a title shot against Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam.

That match should be a pretty good one, and Bliss still presumably has Jax in her corner.

Now, the Boss very well might lose her title shot in Brooklyn, but the fact that she came through in Boston has to count for something.
