6 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (August 21)

2. Lashley’s Consolation Prize

After being left off the SummerSlam card, you would have hoped that WWE had something planned for Bobby Lashley heading into Raw.

But you’d be wrong.

Lashley was GM Kurt Angle’s surprise opponent for Baron Corbin, handily defeating the Raw constable and earning another victory. And while that’s all fine and well, it felt like a wasted opportunity. After all, Lashley is the only person other than Brock Lesnar to defeat Roman Reigns in singles action since WrestleMania.

But even if he didn’t come out to challenge the new Universal Champion, Lashley should have had a storyline in the works to launch rather than being the random guy behind the curtain. Lashley missed SummerSlam, but hopefully he won’t be left off the next PPV card too.
