6 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (August 21)

1. Find Something For Elias

Look, not every wrestler can have a major storyline, but you’d think the writers could find something for one of the biggest heat machines on the Raw roster.

Elias regularly gets one of the biggest reactions of any wrestler, but he rarely has a program to work. He tangled with Bobby Lashley recently, but that really is a dead-end of sorts. Monday, he was interrupted by Curt Hawkins in a decent segment that ended with Elias making him Drift Away.

But overall, Elias has been relegated to performing with his guitar, not his wrestling boots. He’s only had five televised matches during the past three months, and Monday was his first in five weeks. While his mic and guitar work is stellar, WWE really needs to figure out what they want to do with Elias and get him into an actual program with someone.

Otherwise, he’ll just continue to be a great midcard heat magnet, which is fine, but you can only go so far with that.
