6 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Nov 19)

1. Ambrose Plays Mindgames

WWE loves to use the word “mindgames” to describe a wrestler toying with an opponent. It might be one of the most overused terms in the company. As such, it’s really lost all meaning, as a wrestler dancing for five seconds is performing the same mindgames as a wrestler engaging in a months-long psychological warfare.

But what Dean Ambrose did to Seth Rollins Monday night amounted to mindgames. He has spent weeks providing no answers to his former Shield brethren about why he turned on him, and Monday, he invoked Roman Reigns’ name, saying he got what he deserved because he’s now battling leukemia. (Odds are that Roman signed off on that line; it’s doubtful WWE would use that if he wasn’t OK with it.)

Ambrose lured Rollins into hunting him backstage all night, even at one point walking behind Rollins as he did an interview. It was awesome to watch throughout the show, and it ended with Seth charging the ring, getting in a flurry of offense and then falling two a low blow and two Dirty Deeds DDTs. It was a well-executed angle for the night.

Now, let’s keep that going.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
