Jey Uso has been largely absent from WWE and the Bloodline for a while now, with his status being up in the air. It’s enraged Roman Reigns and put Jimmy Uso in the hotseat.

Monday, that all changed when Jey returned to stand face-to-face with his brother Jimmy before walking off and embracing Sami Zayn, seemingly choosing the Bloodline’s biggest rival over family… until he delivered the Superkick Heard ‘Round Boston and broke fans’ hearts. That triggered a Bloodline beatdown that was only halted when Cody Rhodes – and not Kevin Owens – ran down to make the save.

The weeks of speculation really could only lead to one outcome, but for a couple of fleeting moments, you had to believe that Jey really had had enough of the Bloodline’s brand of togetherness and would pick a kindred spirit.

Instead, this story continues to get hotter and hotter while avoiding peaking too early. The fact that it was Cody who saved Sami from further injury shows that KO is still a no-go on mending fences, which means only half the equation has been settled and will continue to simmer until it’s ready.
