If you’re a fan of Baron Corbin – all three of you – then Monday night was a very good night for your guy. He won his King of the Ring first-round match against The Miz.

But it was a bout between Cedric Alexander and Cesaro that might be more relevant to Corbin. Alexander advanced in the KOTR tournament last week, while Cesaro lost. The two hooked it up Monday, with Alexander overcoming repeated attacks on his knee to pull out a victory. The match showed that Cedric can pull fans along, as the match started out quietly, but fans got more into it as it wore on.

The contest also provided a perfect “excuse” for Alexander in his second-round tournament match against Corbin next week, as his knee was injured pretty badly. This should give Baron a leg up (no pun intended) heading into next week.
