6 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (June 26)

WWE brass sure never misses a chance to pat themselves on the back.

Monday night, WWE ran a bumper with Adweek naming Stephanie McMahon as “one of the most powerful women in sports.” First off, since when was WWE a “sport” again? It’s been “entertainment” for a while and rarely “sports entertainment” these days. But besides that, isn’t Stephanie supposed to be an off-screen villain right now?

This isn’t to say that the “honor” from Adweek couldn’t have been used in some fashion. Maybe GM Kurt Angle notes her ruthlessness as an executive, or Michael Cole acknowledges her drive for power in WWE. Instead, it’s just an excuse to give Stephanie kudos for some random honor that no one cares about.

If we give her a fake award here on this site, will WWE crow about it on Raw next week?
