Smart money is that a lot of people looked at their televisions and threw up their hands with a big “WTF!” when Alicia Fox defeated Sasha Banks Monday in a rematch after a referee missed Fox getting a shoulder up on a pinfall last week.

But here’s the simple thing: If Banks isn’t going to be in the title hunt right now and is being throttled back a bit, then feuding with a veteran like Fox isn’t the worst idea. Fox is still a fairly athletic performer (with a great Northern Lights suplex), albeit sloppy at times. As long as we’re not going to get her strange post-match tantrums that marked her previous solo run, then this could be perfectly fine.

Personally, the preference would be for Banks to be battling for the Raw Women’s Championship and eventually finally getting a lengthy reign with some actual title defenses under her belt. (She literally has never defended a title successfully despite three reigns.) But for now, reinserting Alicia Fox into the picture as a wrestler again isn’t a bad move.
