WWE loves brushing aside its own history in certain cases and celebrating it in others, so let’s give a little credit to the company for remembering its pass on two occasions last night.

First up, Michael Cole managed to provide contest to the Bray Wyatt/Roman Reigns confrontation to open Raw, noting that the two battled back in 2015, with Wyatt costing Reigns the Money in the Bank briefcase, and Roman winning their feud at Hell in a Cell last year. It certainly wasn’t ancient history, but it did help remind fans of why these two were so familiar with each other.

Second, hat’s off to The Miz for a veiled shot on Cole after the announcers got on Miz’s case. He observed that Cole, “used to be my biggest fan” who now looked for opportunities to criticize the former Intercontinental Champion. Of course, we’re going back in time about seven years, to when Cole was an unabashed supporter of the Miz, becoming a full heel announcer who interfered in multiple matches to protect Miz.

Again, it’s a rarity that WWE would acknowledging stuff like this, so let’s give credit where it’s due.
