6 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Oct 9)

2. That Was Easy

The Shield Braun Strowman

Let’s be upfront: This is not a gripe about the Shield attacking Braun Strowman Monday night. Although that would be a legit grumble, this solely focuses on one aspect.

And that is, that Strowman was way too easily subdued.

We have watched WWE employ near-perfect booking (No Mercy aside) when it comes to Braun, having him wow crowds with feats of strength and maul opponents with ease. He’s withstood tremendous attacks and overcome nearly all of them. This guy walked away from an ambulance crash. He stood right up after a German suplex like it was nothing. He has been dominant.

So how is it that the Shield felled him with a series of boots and a spear, knocking him loopy enough to allow them to triple-powerbomb him through the announce table? Think about that. One move was enough to incapacitate Strowman long enough to walk him over to the table and put him through it. Yeah, it was three guys, but given how Braun has been booked for well over a year now, it felt like it was too easy lay him out.

Maybe if Strowman had stirred after the powerbomb and even sat up, it would have assuaged that concern, but it just felt like it was too easy to take him down – even if he got up later and demanded to be added to the TLC match.
