Despite the negatives, the SmackDown Women’s Championship match had some really solid moments and good flow for a good chunk of the bout, plus the right woman won the title.

Naomi had a nice showcase mid-match – though she also had an ugly repeat of a skin the cat spot with Natalya that looked horribly contrived. Her springboard plancha to the floor, however, almost makes up for it by itself. A mid-match melee was nicely done, with several women hitting signature moves on each other. Although she was the first eliminated, Alexa Bliss had a couple nice moments.

Becky Lynch becoming the first SmackDown women’s champ was a good call, as she was long overdue to get a big win. Although the women’s division is ridiculously shallow (five challengers, six if Eva Marie ever wrestles), we saw that there’s the potential for some decent matches going forward, so we’ll take it for now.
