Leave it to WWE and the countless hours of TV they have to fill to burn through interesting matchups with little to no fanfare. Last week, it was Cesaro and Jeff Hardy having their first match with no buildup.

Monday, we saw Finn Balor replace Enzo Amore in a six-man tag match that included opponents Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson. Michael Cole quickly noted that Balor was quite familiar with Gallows & Anderson, as the three were part of the Bullet Club in New Japan. This wasn’t the first time that a trio from the Japanese wrestling stable were reunited, as AJ Styles joined up with Gallows & Anderson last year a few times.

But Balor and the former Raw tag champs only briefly crossed paths last year, and that backstage segment left you wondering whether he saw eye-to-eye with his former stablemates. Monday, however, Balor stormed out as a replacement and went right to attacking his former buddies.

In the grand scheme of things, it isn’t a big deal. Rivalries and friendships from previous federations are often glossed over or forgotten, but it still was ridiculous how easily WWE acknowledged it and then blew right past it.
