There are two ways to look at Monday’s mixed tag match pitting Apollo Crews & Ember Moon against Jinder Mahal & Alicia Fox.

Mahal and Fox clearly aren’t going anywhere as a duo and are just a mixed tag jobber connection, so facing them isn’t elevating Crews and Moon. However, Apollo and Ember closed out 2018 with a bit of a push, so seeing them run over two jobbers like that was a good sign that they might not be forgotten as 2019 begins.

Crews in particular had been invisible in 2018 until New Year’s Eve, when he won a16-man battle royal by eliminating eight men to earn an Intercontinental Championship match that night, which he lost after a competitive bout.

So while the match wasn’t anything special, we’ll give it a nod upward.
